ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

All applications for Postgraduate programmes are done through KIU admission office.

The applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University in the relevant Field with a minimum of Second Class lower.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Applicants with A- Level Secondary Education should apply for the degree courses through Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) Central Admission System (CAS). www.tcu.go.tz

Applicants with Equivalent Qualification (for example diplomas, NTA level 6 and non- NTA level 6 recognized by NACTE should apply through National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). Visit their website on www.nacte.go.tz

The Minimum entry qualification FOR Bachelors Programmes

  • Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E) of the National Examination Council of Tanzania(NECTA), or Equivalent, and
  • Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(A.C.S.E.E)  of the  National Examinations Council of Tanzania(NECTA), or its equivalent with at least two (2) principal passes (4.0) or,
  • Diploma from recognized Institute of Higher Learning (3.0) CGPA, and recognized by NACTE.

The Minimum entry qualification for Diploma Programmes (Non- health related programs)

Applicants for diploma and certificate courses should apply through Central Admission System of National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). Visit their website on www.nacte.go.tz

  • Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(A.C.S.E.E)  of the  National Examinations Council of Tanzania(NECTA), or its equivalent with at One principal pass and a subsidiary OR,
  • Certificate from recognized tertiary Institution of Higher Learning recognized by NACTE.

 The Minimum entry qualification for Certificate Programmes (Non-health related programs)

  • Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E) of the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) with at least four (4) passes in non-religious subjects’

Applicants who aspire to be admitted into DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATES in health related programmes should meet the following minimum entry requirements:-

1: Technician certificate level

Clinical medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences

  1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including ‘D’ passes in Physics/Engineering Sciences, Chemistry and Biology;

Medical Laboratory Sciences

  1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with ‘D’ passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English and Mathematics;

2: Ordinary Diploma level

Clinical medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences

  1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including ‘C’ pass in Chemistry and Biology; and ‘D’ pass in Physics/Engineering Sciences

Medical Laboratory Sciences

  1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with ‘C’ pass in Chemistry and Biology, and ‘D’ passes in Physics, English and Mathematics
