The Bachelor of Pharmacy program of Kampala International University, Dar es Salaam campus started in October 2011 within the School of Health Sciences. In November 2015 the School of Health Sciences was split into three faculties, one of which was the Faculty of Pharmacy. It was in this year that the Faculty also admitted its first record intake of 381 new students and received new teaching equipment for its Pharmaceutical Technology laboratory.
The Faculty has a vision of becoming a premier centre of international repute that prepares students from all over the world to deliver innovative pharmaceutical services for the 21st century and beyond.
To be at the forefront in responding to societal needs by designing and delivering pharmacy education guided by the principles and values of respect for society, economy and environment and to provide and develop a supportive research environment in which scholars at every stage of their career can flourish.
To continuously strive to generate, acquire and evaluate new knowledge and skills so as to maintain academic excellence necessary for teaching, research and consultancy in pharmacy and produce pharmaceutical manpower of highest caliber capable of coping with current personnel needs for all relevant areas of pharmacy practice at local, national, regional and international levels.
To act as center of reference in pharmaceutical knowledge creation, skills development, job creation and management of pharmaceutical services by instituting accountable attitudes to guide the community at large.
