KIUT WELCOMES FRESHERS FOR 2017/2018 ACADEMIC SESSION
On Monday, 9th October, 2017, Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) resumed for the 2017/2018 academic year. This session, which started with the registration of new students cum orientation programme, is seen as being progressive as there has been an influx of new entrants in the University premises who have come to register for the academic year. The week-long registration cum orientation programme for new intakes of 2017/2018 academic session is from 9th to 13th October, 2017.
The orientation programme is designed to support new students as they begin their journey at KIUT. This will enable them to become familiar with the physical campus, as it has been the university culture, to make it easier to understand what lies ahead of them and therefore have informed conversations during their stay in the university. During the course of the programme, new students are gradually introduced to life at the university, including academics, resources and support services. As such, staff from various departments in the University as well as student guild leadrers will be on ground to give necessary tips to the new entrants, as well as attend to their questions in whatever areas of concern that may arise.
KIUT through the Directorate of Academic Affairs therefore encourages other newly admitted students who are yet to turn up, to report as soon as possible to enable them register with the admissions and finance departments, as well as their respective departments and faculties. as lectures for the semester begins from Monday, 16th October, 2017, soon after the end of registration and orientation.
The management of KIUT therefore congratulates the newly admitted students upon their recent admission in KIUT, after successfully scaling through the required academic qualifications. Consequently, the management will officially welcome and receive the new entrants to the KIUT community on Friday, 13th October, 2017, during the Matriculation programme in the course of the orientation week.
However, it is pertinent to note that continuing students will resume later in the month, as only the newly admitted students are meant to report during the week, for the purposes of registration and orientation before lectures commence.
